The doctor I saw was personable, interested, and knowledgeable. The x-ray tech was both respectful and upbeat. Although I was in some considerable pain, her attitude and approach made having X-rays taken a fun experience.
I went here at 11:15 on a Friday. Everything was fast and the nurses were great. My wait was not long even though there were plenty of people in line. I was out in an hour. We had an x-ray and a cast put on in that time.
I brought in my partner because he was having two cysts under his armpit that were both (in my opinion) severely infected. A lot of pus and blood was draining from both of cysts and he was in a lot of pain. We we're greeted by the receptionists and they we're very friendly. He checked in she said it might be a while but they'll try to get him soon, I didn't expect much because it's walk ins and as much as I wanted my partner to be first in line because he was in pain I saw a few more people come in that obviously needed the care more than he did. Wait was around 45 minutes, again I expected nothing less for a walk in clinic on a Sunday. The nurse came by and called for his name. We stopped by the weight scale she rudely told him to "get on the scale already". She took his weight and then kept walking down the hall, we almost lost her cause she kept taking turns and didn't bother to wait for us. I asked her if it was alright if I stayed in the room because it was a little cramped but she ignored me. She began asking my partner questions about what's wrong and didn't bother let him explain everything. Mid-sentence she would cut him off asking the next question. She left and I was left leaning against the sink/table in the room, I don't mind standing but it would be nice to at least be offered a chair... The doctor came in and was very rude making it very obvious that he did NOT want to be there. He came in, asked what was wrong, once again partner tried to explain what happened and what it was because this wasn’t the first time he got this. The doctor actually shushed him mid-sentence, without cleaning the cysts, giving him any kind of numbing medicine (mind you these cysts were the size of effin ping pong balls so imagine how painful that would be especially since they’re right next to each other) just started squeezing the cysts. I have never seen my fiancé more in pain than at that moment, he was squirming, he was starting to get tears in his eyes because of the pain and the doctor just kept telling him to stop moving because it’s distracting… Then after putting my partner through all of that pain, he didn’t bother to clean the freshly squeezed wound again and put a sticky band aid on his armpit that has hair and beautifully placed the sticky part of it on one of the open cysts (which took us 2 hours to get off because it was too painful) I have never seen a more unprofessional and rude medical staff. I do NOT in any way recommend that anybody come here. If you’re in pain, go to another urgent care clinic or the hospital. I only gave this post 2 stars because of the receptionists.
The negative reviews I read gave me considerable trepidation, but my insurance is limited to Allina so I gave IGH a try.
Five stars and my thank yous.
Went in yesterday mid morning for UTI symptoms. Was told half hour wait. Started process after just a 10 minute wait. Nurse & Dr T were both knowledgeable & attentive. Out within half an hour with scripts already sent ahead to my pharmacy. Impressive.
The next day -- a Monday -- I returned to the clinic for an appointment with my regular physician. The same two individuals were on the front desk. They both remembered me and my condition and asked how I was doing.
Lori S was such of a nice lady getting me checked in , she made it so much easier being at a urgent care Thank you
My experience was completely opposite of the experiences described in the negative reviews. The two individuals at the front desk were open and pleasant. The one entering my information worked assiduously and without complaint to fix a glitch in the way my insurance ID had been entered. For computer reasons, it was taking her some time to process my co-pay. She suggested that I sit down and told me that she would bring me my receipt and credit card.
